Nail It! // Fusion Spa
First impressions. Sooooo much pressure. Whether it's for a job interview, client meeting, or even a date, we spend countless hours planning in our heads what we will wear, how our hair will look, and what we will say. And we would dare to say that 85% of the time, none of those things come to fruition. Our dry shampoo fails us, the outfit makes us look like one of those internet prom dresses gone wrong, and yes, sometimes we fumble our words, forget our name, and occasionally let a cuss word slip from trying so hard NOT to cuss. So what is the one thing that just might turn it around? What is going to help you nail it (the job that is)? It’s the equivalent of men’s polished shoes...the well polished fingernail. We all sneak a peek at people's nails. They say so much about a person. Are they an artist? A nervous person? A mechanic?! Here are our suggestions of nail styles for all your first impressions.
Go for a well manicured, natural nail with a clear coat or a muted color. This says I'm down to get stuff done, but I look good while doing it. I don't fuss about broken nails, but you'll never see them undone. Classy, bossy, but still understated sexy when needed after work.
Go for a medium length nail, either oval or almond with a muted color but with a pop of color or design on one nail. This is enough detail to be interesting without being a complete distraction. People want attainable and relatable interactions. You want to be able to be stylish without being unrelatable.
Go all out stiletto...on your feet and your hands. If you don't want to sharpen to a stiletto, try an almond. Both are sexy and sophisticated. Keep the color cool. The shape speaks for itself. Most dates will give your mental props for maintenance efforts, and most of them will likely picture those nails scratching their back or running through their hair.
Pick your passion. Go wild. Loud and long, or short and plain. You literally cannot go wrong. Make sure to get all the selfies holding your drinks. This is the wild card nail. If you don't wear faux nails, now is the time to try them out. It's only one night of fun.
Of course manicures are a #treatyoself activity, but really this is necessary for any first impression scenario. Your reputation is On. The. Line. When everything else fails you...your hair, your clothes, and even your personality...you can always have well manicured nails. Your future boss or spouse will certainly give you the benefit of the doubt when they see those nails are slaying. Check out Fusion Spa for manicures that kill it. If you're going to do it, do it right. (Wink, wink.)
