February Man of The Moment | Theo Akai of Osiella | Love IT! Evv Magazine

It's no secret Osiella is one of our favorite local bands.
So when brainstorming on who should be our Man of the Moment for February of course self proclaimed "Sexual Chocolate" came to mind. Lead guitarist Theo Akai, our man crush fit for everyday, is just as charming off stage as he is when he's stroking his beautiful guitar.

We asked our Man of The Moment a few questions.
His answers will show you why we LOVE us some Theo Akai!

Who is your biggest female influence & why?

My biggest female influence is my mother. My mother is my everything...I'm not saying I'm a mama's boy, but, I'm a mama's boy. It's nice to have her as part of my conscience because it keeps me out of trouble.

Where Do you see yourself in 5 years?

God willing in five years I'll be traveling and playing music with Cynthia Murray and Dekar Baker. They're my musical family and I'd love to continue creating and performing with them!

You've been asked to plan a first date with a woman you're really interested in. What do you do?

First date! Believe it or not I don't like dates too much. I like avoiding awkward conversation as much as possible because I say really corny shit. If I had to though, I'd take the somewhat lucky lady to an intimate show. Maybe a singer-songwriter or a very mellow band. I love music and this would be a good way to share that with her.

What do you think is your best quality?

My best quality is that I'm a very positive person. To me there are no lemons, just lemonade, always. I live like that and it seems to affect the folks around me.

What is the biggest lesson you have learned from past relationships?

Biggest lesson learned from a past relationship is don't rush things at all. Being overzealous can cause problems. A good mix of effort and a laissez faire attitude at the beginning works best for me.

If you could write a song that summarizes how you feel about women, what would it be called?

Queens Aren't Only in Africa (I got help from Kenneth Murray on that one LOL!)
